This position is ideal for someone with experience in audio/video installation , structured cabling , electronic security , or related construction/technical trades. We are willing to train the right person with the right attitude and work ethic.This is a hands-on role working in commercial environments installing and servicing low voltage systems.What You'll DoInstall audio/video systems , including video walls, displays, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, and control systemsInstall and terminate structured cabling , including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and other low voltage wiringInstall security systems , including surveillance cameras and access control systemsRead and interpret blueprints, floorplans, and wiring diagramsMount equipment such as TVs, speakers, cameras, racks, and other devicesBuild and dress equipment racks and cable pathways neatly and professionallyTest, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues in the fieldWork with team members, project managers, and office staff to complete projects efficientlyMaintain company tools, equipment, and vehiclesKeep a clean, safe work environmentTravel RequirementsTravel is required approximately 30% of the time, including overnight staysTravel may include multi-day out-of-town projects depending on workload and project schedulesPer-diem is provided for eligible overnight travelCompany vehicles are provided for all work-related travelWhat We're Looking ForExperience in one or more of the following is preferred:Audio/video installationStructured cabling / data cablingVideo surveillance camera systemsAccess control systemsBurglar / intrusion alarm systemsIT / networking / telecom field workElectrical or low voltage construction workAdditional qualifications:Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand and power toolsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPositive attitude and willingness to learnAbility to communicate professionally with customers and coworkersReliable transportation and valid driver's licenseAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders / in ceilings / in various job site conditionsAbility and willingness to travel overnight as neededEmployment may be contingent upon successful completion of background checks, motor vehicle record review, and/or drug screening, where permitted by law.Bonus Points ForExperience with commercial AV systemsExperience terminating and testing network cablingExperience with access control or video surveillance systemsExperience with system programming or configurationOSHA certification or other trade certificationsWhy Join UsCompetitive pay based on experienceOpportunities for training and advancementVariety of work across AV, security, and IT systemsPer diem for eligible overnight travelCompany vehicles provided for all work-related travel when applicableWork with a team that values quality, urgency, and doing things rightStable, growing company with long-term career opportunitiesAbout UsLocated in College Station, Avinext is a leading provider of IT, Networking, Electronic Security, and Audio-Visual systems with over 35 years of successful business.
