Job Summary:
Prepares and serves meals for patients, retail and special functions, monitors methods of food handling, preparation, meal service and equipment cleaning. Preparation is for the meal periods of breakfast lunch and dinner. Functions in the decision making capacity and leadership role under the guidance of the Director of Nutritional Services with input from the Registered Dietician. Directs and/or provides professional preparation of meals for guests, employees and inpatients across the age continuum as needed to facilitate the delivery of services. Utilizes the food service process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide dietary services. Provides direct supervision, leadership and guidance to members the staff; and may be authorized, in the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services, to make decisions affecting the Nutritional Services Department. Performs other duties as assigned.
