Job Description
Purpose: The Associate Director of Professional Education Programs provides general project and program support to the TEES Professional & Continuing Education initiatives under the Texas A&M Engineering Workforce Development. The Associate Director (AD) is responsible for day-to-day operations of the EDGE business unit, managing the EDGE production process for P&CE, including initiation, definition, contracting, development, delivery, and control of P&CE courses. The AD supervises the routine activities of PMs on staff and supports special initiatives identified by the director. The AD is supported by a program specialist and program managers.
Responsibilities
- Manage functions for the Professional & Continuing Education Program, including complex, highly sensitive and confidential administrative matters in determining work priorities; analyze and develop administrative operations; monitor budgets for programs and events.
- Oversee and execute programs related to Professional & Continuing Education (PCE), including maintaining data in student management systems and other software platforms; facilitate delivery of PCE activities with Center and Departmental Division personnel; coordinate conference activities related to PCE in College Station and remote locations.
- Oversee and execute enrollment in PCE activities; work with researchers and faculty to facilitate short courses, conferences, and symposiums.
- Oversee and support events and meetings such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, and workshops, including logistics such as run of show, staffing, location setup, meals, attendees, AV equipment, and paper submission.
- Manage web materials; manage marketing and communications for programs; develop and maintain/distribute programmatic marketing materials.
- Create and maintain databases; maintain program statistics to satisfy metrics.
- Assist with the preparation of grant proposals related to professional and continuing education programs, including supporting the writing process and helping develop budgets in collaboration with faculty and staff.
- This position requires direct engagement with minors and youth during program activities; adhere to university policies and state regulations for safety and protection of minors.

What we need
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eight years of related experience.
What is helpful
- Related experience in project and/or program management including supervisory experience.
- Conference or event planning and logistics.
- Market research and marketing strategy.
- Experience with learning management systems, student management systems, and/or CRM systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment and software; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to plan and organize effectively.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook for calendar management).
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses
- Project management training or PMP certification.
Other Requirements
- Must be able to travel occasionally (day and overnight trips).
