One-Line Job Description

Recruit, train, schedule, and care for the volunteer team that serves in Kids Ministry, ensuring leaders are envisioned, equipped, and thriving in their roles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Volunteer Recruitment

1. 1. Actively recruit new volunteers from the congregation.

1. 1. Host interest meetings, connect with prospective leaders, and guide them through the onboarding process.

1. 1. Partner with staff to identify volunteer needs across classrooms.

1. Volunteer Onboarding & Training

1. 1. Oversee background checks, applications, and initial interviews.

1. 1. Develop and deliver orientation for new volunteers.

1. 1. Coordinate ongoing training opportunities (in partnership with the Elementary Kids Director for discipleship/teaching and the Operations Director for systems/logistics).

1. Scheduling & Communication

1. 1. Create and manage the weekly/monthly volunteer schedule.

1. 1. Communicate with volunteers to confirm roles and responsibilities.

1. 1. Arrange substitutes when needed to ensure classrooms are covered.

1. Volunteer Care & Development

1. 1. Build relationships with volunteers and provide encouragement.

1. 1. Host appreciation events and recognition efforts.

1. 1. Regularly check in with volunteers to support their growth and address concerns.

1. Sunday Leadership Support

1. 1. Be present each Sunday to welcome, encourage, and resource volunteers.

1. 1. Help ensure all roles are covered and provide backup if last-minute needs arise.

1. Collaboration

1. 1. Work with Elementary Kids Director to align volunteers with discipleship goals and classroom teaching.

1. 1. Work with Kids Operations Director to align volunteers with systems, scheduling, and classroom logistics.
