Brief Summary:
The Materials Handler will be responsible for performing the racking of pipe in a safe and effective manner.
Responsibilities:
• Attend pre-shift daily meetings conduct by the shift lead/supervisor, to go over safety talk, daily priorities and buildings schedules (per production planning reports), check the non-scanned pipe from SAP report and the yard planning.
• Help the driver by placing timber on each layer of pipe 4-6 feet from end of pipe before next layer of pipe is added.
• Verify heat numbers in the sticker and/or stencil to ensure that multiple heats are not racked together.
• Assist forklift operator when moving loads.
• Basic housekeeping in general work area.
• The Material Handler is responsible for completing any assignments given by Lead/Supervisor, including assignments not specifically listed in this job description but within the skills set.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Or one to three months related experience and/or training.
• Must be able to read and understand the Standard Operating Procedure for the position held.
• Must follow basic Safety Rules and Regulations.
