We are seeking an inspirational and enthusiastic individual to lead the College Finance department, ensuring effective deployment of financial resources within budget.

The role involves managing diverse funding streams, interpreting funding methodology, and managing accountability and risk. The successful candidate will ensure timely production of key reports such as annual strategies for procurement, value for money, projects, payroll, statutory accounts, detailed budgets, and related returns and claims. They will also implement measures to improve efficiency in transaction processing and finance systems use.

Candidates should hold a full accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA / ACCA) and have substantial experience in all aspects of finance. High-level Excel skills and experience managing a team are essential. Experience in an educational environment is highly desirable.

The Successful Candidate Must Have

• Accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA / ACCA)
• Experience within an educational background and knowledge of Teacher's Pension Scheme
• Knowledge of the financial and regulatory framework affecting Further Education
• Substantial management and financial accounting knowledge
• Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and financial systems reporting
• Experience producing management accounts, statutory accounts, and audit documentation
• Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
