Position Summary:
Works within and around the assigned terminal to ensure the general cleanliness and upkeep of
our facilities. Uses power riding lawnmower, edger and weed eater. Picks up debris from
roadways and parking lots. Cleans restrooms and amenities buildings. Uses forklift when
required for wharf cleanup and trash pickup.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Usepower riding lawnmower, edger, and weed eater
  • Pickup debris from roadways and parking lots
  • Cleanrestrooms and amenities building
  • Assistwith work and paint maintenance
  • Maintainclean and organized work area
  • Assistwith repairs to fences and gates
  • Assistwith repairs to pavement
  • Assistwith repairs to railroad and switches
  • Assistwith repairs to buildings, roofing, flooring, and walls
  • Workrequired scheduled overtime hours and be available for unscheduledovertime when operating requirements or other business needs of PortHouston cannot be fulfilled during regular working hours
  • Worka temporary, alternative schedule or shift as requested by supervisor
  • Actin accordance with Port Houston core values (respect, excellence,accountability, diligence, and you)
  • Perform other duties as required

Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • General maintenance familiarity required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:
  • Knowledgeof safety precautions to deal with occupational hazards
  • Abilityto operate forklift
  • Abilityto follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively withothers
  • Abilityto access and operate standard vehicles and industrial equipment
  • Abilityto work independently
  • Abilityto establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Generalmechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability to improvise and adjust tonew situations
  • Acurrent, valid Texas driver's license is required
  • ATransportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) must be obtainedwithin 30 days of appointment, and be maintained for the duration ofemployment
